Federal rules are written in public — if you know when the comment window is open. The Tracker watches proposed federal rules, tracks their deadlines, and follows what agencies do after the window closes.
What the Tracker does
- Deadline radar. Open federal comment periods, with the closing date on every item — no rule should become final before the public has had its say, and nobody should miss a deadline because it was buried in the Federal Register.
- Outcome tracking. What happened after the comments closed: final rule, withdrawal, delay — recorded against the original proposal.
- Agency scorecards feed. Comment and outcome records feed the Agency Scorecards methodology.
